My benefits for me being a vegetarian:
I am much healthier
I have more energy
I sleep better
I do save cause I don't buy meats
I do save cause I make my own tofu
I do save cause I make fake meats.
I almost never buy the ready made foods cause U never know what kind of junk is in that!
As long as you eat properly as a vegetarian you will be much healthier cause you aren't eating meat.. Meat is carcass which is dead
If you eat such then you're eating death!
Vegetarians should however eat more fruit than meat eaters. At least 2 fruits aday to keep the doctor away! Healthier means fewer
colds so less meds to take and U save that way! U can get a book at Your local library on becoming a Vegetarian!

There are no health benefits from being a vegetarian compared to one who eats a balanced diet including meat which should be lean meat and little red meat. Being vegetarian is more healthful than the average American's diet though. There are ethical benefits for some because they do not feel guilty for killing an animal but im not one of them.

REVISED: Also, think about the substantial amount of olympians who are vegans, that alone speaks for itself. Vegetarians in general live longer lives, and they have much clearer skin. They are healthier in general. You also feel good about the fact that you arent supporitng the slaughter of thousands of cows, chickens, pigs, lambs, ect ect, which arent only brutally murdered but are treated like **** along that. Your body feels a lot better too. I mean we all know eating fruits and vegetables is healthy, everyone will admit that, but done in the right way, make that your primary organic diet and you are a healthy person. The chances of being obese is lowered a lot as well. Meat is generally unclean anyway. Watch this video, titled "13 reasons to become a vegetarian". Watch the second and third video, do you support that?

Vegetarian is good for a short stint, like a month or so - but
we need meat for some trace elements and other nutrients.
While vegetarians have a lower incidence of heart disease, the number one cause of death in the western world, whether vegetarians live longer than carnivores is a lineball decision. As far as cancer is concerned meat-eaters especially those who like their red meat are at risk of succumbing to pancreatic, prostate, breast and bowel cancer.
Vegetarians should not rest on their laurels, however, as they can be deficient in iron, vitamin B12, protein and a health-giving substance called carnosine found predominantly in meat that has the potential to protect against cataracts, cancer and Alzheimer's disease as well as help diabetics to resist the development of heart disease and premature death.
Laboratory research also indicates that carnosine might contribute to extending lifespan which would go some way to explaining why meat-eaters run neck and neck with vegetarians when it comes to the longevity stakes.
Vegetarians can get the same nutrients that meat eaters do - through tofu, and beans, but it is up to them if they wish to be healthy instead of just eating lots of junk food and coke everyday.

I'm vegetarian and hate tofu. I eat a lot of veggies, whole grains, nuts and beans. Beans are very high in protein and a fraction of what meat costs. Beans are also fat free and cholesterol free.

You will feel more energy as DIGESTION is the second most energy intensive process in the body and if you only eat fruit and veges, then there's less pressure on your internal system.
Your meat budget will go down. Meat is expensive and you will save money on your weekly grocery bills.

There was a bit in the papers recently that claimed Veggies are, on the whole, a healthy bunch. So they live longer and have fewer medical problems! I suppose you could say the same if you are just careful to eat right and exercise.

make sure you keep your iron up or take supplements.
I was a vegetarian for over 15 yrs and finally ate meat (dont like it much and eat minimal of it) but iron is my big problem.
my skin was always glowing, my hair was gorgeous and I was healthy (except for the iron - as I always had anaemia)
Eat lots of fresh fruit/veggies and stay healthy =)
