Moraccan food...help?!?

Does Moraccan food, as in the real, genuine food, generally have pork in it? Don't they usually use lamb, chicken and fish, but not pork?

My husband is Moroccan and I can tell you that most Moroccan's that I have met are muslim. They do not eat pork at all, I mean I have to even check turkey hot dogs etc. for pork casting. They generally eat halla meat, which is just the way it is butchered, but it is generally, lamb, goat, chicken, fish but absolutely no pork.

moraccan food rarely has pork because moraccans tend to be islamic, and muslims don't eat pork. most moroccan dishes are lamb, and delicious. they're very flavorfull with tons of sweet interesting spices. you should definitly try it if you never have before

Because most Moroccans are Muslims, pork and alcohol are traditionally avoided. In Moroccan recipes, "meat" could mean lamb, mutton, beef, fish, chicken or even camel.

They don't use pork. I hope you get to cook the meal in a tangine. I have seen the prices from $29 to $49 for Emeril's. Best of luck to you!

I was in Morocco but only for two days and didn't take much notice of their food. I did notice that they like tea and their tea is good. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't use pork because they are predominantly Muslim faith based to my knowledge.

I would think of lamb. No pork.

Moroccans are arab, and subsequently most are muslim. So, pork is generally not used.
