i'm making fried taters (pan fried on stove), and deep frying chicken....but i am out of lard!!!!!! all i have is motor oil in the barn (40 weight)...has anyone tried this...was it a good taste?? i would go to the store, but i am wearing a police issued ankle bracelette and can't leave. thanks all!

not only is it safe but it is the latest trend in hot LA eateries. Recently Emril did a special on the health benefits of motor oil and Martha Stewart says it adds great fun to any party.

I tried it. The chicken came out pretty good. The taters were very crispy, but that's how I like them. I didn't suffer any horrible side effects except the hundreds of zits that broke out on my butt. But hey, I gotta lower my cholesterol so I think I can put up with the zits. If you can find a lighter weight oil in the barn, I suggest you do so.

Motor oil???????? it extremely is poisonous!!!!! you will could have your abdomen pumped or some thing. Why do not you employ that oil to force all the way down to the save and get some freaking butter????

No, it would be an irratant to every organ it contacts. It even irratates the skin with prolonged contact. No posion but very harmful internaly.

I don't believe it is safe, and if it were I doubt it would be tasty.
Use butter, margarine, vegetable oil or just bake the potatoes
