I always figure at least a 1/2 pound per person alittle less for the smaller kids.

For turkey it is usually like that - 1 pound per person...but there are alot of bones and such in there too.

I would say 1/2 pound a person with beef. Just because there are no bones, giblets etc.

So 3 pounds in total - 4 to be safe?.

If there is a bit excess - good leftovers for you!

Plan on 6 ounces of cooked beef per serving rather than the typical 3-ounce cooked, trimmed portion. Generally, a boneless beef roast yields 1-1/2 to 2 (6-ounce) cooked, trimmed servings per pound. A bone-in roast yields about 1 to 1-1/2 (6-ounce) cooked, trimmed servings per pound.

proper serving is 1/4 pound per person so 4 6 people you would need at least a 2 pound roast due to approx !/2 pound of waste ie bones and fat

I would plan on a pound per person. That is a good rule of thumb when it comes to prime rib.

I think you can measure prime rib the way you would turkey, to measure one pound per guest. Perhaps you could count the two kids as one adult and get five pounds. Ask your butcher, s/he'll know.

Always go with extra. It is better to have to much than to little. Don`t worry I will help with the leftovers. :-)

Yes, it is. But also depend on the side dishes.
