Appetizer:
You can stuff the large pasta Sea Shell Noodles (after cooking & draining them) with*** : Seafood Salad made of imitation crabmeat, mayo, diced red peppers, poppy seeds, scallions, Old Bay Seafood Seasoning, shredded swiss (if not available shredded parmesan works just as well), celery, and salad shrimp (the shrimp can be omitted if there are allergies to shell fish).
These are served COLD (do not bake them after stuffing them), and are a convenient finger food for parties. Also they can be made a day ahead of time as they can be a little time consuming to prepare, but not difficult. They are always a big hit because they are so different and I always get requested to bring them to every event I attend.
*** Tuna Salad or Chicken Salad can be used in lieu of the seafood salad.

The last time we had a neighborhood Christmas party we did a "pot luck" appetizer thing. Everybody brought a little appetizer to share and it was yummy.
If you are providing all of the appetizers I would suggest concentrating on cold make ahead snacks so that you can enjoy the party--it is more enjoyable for everyone if the hosts are having a good time too. I always try to include a vegetable tray, cheese spread with crackers, and some meat such as ham pinwheels, meatballs, shrimp cocktail etc. A large selection of chips, pretzels, cheese doodles, and popcorn is always appreciated. Include a large tray of cookies and Christmas candies and you'll have the basics for a good time!
As the hosts my husband and I provided a pony keg, assorted soft drinks, and cranberry margaritas.
Frozen Cranberry Margaritas
1 cup tequila
1/2 cup Triple Sec or other orange liquer
6 cups cranberry cocktail juice (such as Ocean Spray)
1/2 cup frozen limeade concentrade
Mix all ingredients together and place in freezer safe container. Freeze preferably overnight. I usually put this in tupperware type containers. Scoop this out into plasticware cups and it is yummy-not too sweet and not too boozy.
Makes 2 qts.
Good Luck!

My fav holiday cocktail is a Candy Cane. 1/2 oz.each vodka and peppermint schnapps over ice, add a candy cane and there you go! Quick and easy and tastes sooo good!
For appetizers, there are two things I get a lot of requests for. Queso, which I put in a crock pot so it stays hot. If you've got young people they'll lick the plates! For older people take it easy, it's an artery clogger! The other is McCormick's recipe for Confetti Bites.
For the Queso, 1 small mexican velveta. Add a little chili - if you've left over home made it's better but if you need to cheat you can add a bit of canned, not as good but ok. And you only need a couple of heaping tablespoons, no more. Add your fav chunky salsa to the consistency you like and you're done. We cube the veleveta, melt in a microwave and mix in the chili. Add Salsa to taste and consistency and put in crockpot on low. Serve with your fav toritilla chips.
Confetti Bites, McCormicks has the recipe on line somethere but it;'s easy too. You'll have to look for it cause I dont' have it with me.
Pillsbury crescent rolls, 2 cans. Roll out and bake on an cookie sheet making a rectangle shape of the dough. Add a cream cheese and mayo mixture to it when it's cooled. Top with tiny finely diced bits of broccoli, red and yellow peppers and top with McCormick's Salad Seasonings.
I am sorry I don't have the recipe with me. But it's a sure fire hit. Good luck.

They say to select one drink as a staple, like a pomegrante martini, and have them all ready as guests arrive, then you can do the simple sodas, water, wine, beer too if you want, but no need for other liquors, mixers.
Keep food simple- a veggie platter is always great, a cheese platter, with grapes, turkey with cheese and an olive on a cracker (make a platter of them), cold tortelini salad (make at home then cool, toss in grape tomatoes and basil and use balsamic vinegarette dressing, mix well. you can also purchase party wraps at Subway, cut in to smaller wraps, put on platter, then of course, sweets, cookies, etc

It depends on what your budget is and the level of the party, but for my neighborhood get-together we do the assorted pastry appetizers, cheese, fruit & veggies (decoritively cut) and have plenty of wine & beer (bottles only!) on hand. If there's snow on the ground, we build snow coolers and put votive candles all around - adds a festive touch.
