Is there anything you should do, or not do, to prepare for a blood test to check your cholesterol? I want to make sure my results are accurate. Thanks!

In answer to your Question ...YES you should ideally fast from midnight, and have the test done first thing in the morning,
you may drink water only.

Don't eat anything after dinner the night before the blood draw or at least 12 hours before the blood draw. Do continue to drink water as you normally would, but only water. No tea or coffee. You want to still drink water to insure you aren't dehydrated for the blood draw. Trust me it is hard to draw blood on a dehydrated person. You shouldn't pass out if you breath normal and don't tense up.
Good luck!
