Some birth control will make your period go away or be less. Seasonale makes it so you only have a period once every 3 months. Projestin-only pills (e.g. Micronor) reduce your menstrual flow and some women stop having a period altogether. The Depo Provera shot often makes you stop having your period at all.
Aside from that, not having your period can be a sign of pregnancy, malnutrition, or entering menopause.

Beside being a man or being pregnant ?
Of course. I can name you a few causes:
1) A strenuous exercise program such as the ones athletes or soldiers get
2) A too strict diet
3) After menopause or hysterectomy (removal of uterus)
4) Being exposed to estrogenic hormones (happened to me, it DOES messes up your system), or taking the contraceptive pill on constant dosage (avoiding the "empty" pill)
5) A health problem. This can mean many things, and that's why you may have to consult a gynecologist.

Lots of reasons mentioned here before.
You never mentioned your age. Were you regular and then stopped? Did you ever start? Could you possibly be pregant?
Some drugs, hormone imbalances, diseases and even stress can affect your periods. You need to talk to a dr.

if you have never mensturated when you were younger.most girls will start mensturating between the ages of 10-16 but if along those years you developed an eating disorder, your body will not be able to "cleanse" the body, therefore not having a period.but other than that, i have never heard of a girl not having her period for other reasons

Yes if your body fat percentage drop below say 13 or 14 % or you are very athletic. Marathon runners or HS girls, during track season, can go for months w/o menstration.
