I'm certainly no doctor but I would assume that depression would increase heart disease due to the fact that depression leads to stress. Stress is a often a large factor in one's health.

I know that depression can physically affect your entire body, so I wouldn't be surprise if it increased heart disease. I haven't seen any studies, though.

I'm sure that any type of forms such as depression and whatever else will increase the likelyhood of something else happening.....
