You do not have a heart murmur, you have a mildly irregular beat. These are very common and are harmless. You probably had a PVC (premature ventricular contraction). It is essentially a case where the bottom of your heart beats out of turn. There typically is a pause, followed by a "heavy" beat and normal rhythm thereafter. Often stress, lack of sleep, alcohol, caffiene and the like make these symptoms worse. While most people have these beats there are some people who sense them much more than the average person. They are not more serious, people just sense them more.

What you describe is not a heart murmur but if you DO have a heart murmur too (that which is heard by stethoscope by a medical provider) then it should be evaluated by an echocardiogram.

From what you have said, this does not concern me in the least. Good luck.

I have a mild heart murmur, and I cant feel anything. However, my mom has heart palpitations and that sounds more like what you have. She describes the same feelings as you have. You should tell your doctor about it, although it may be from stress. Good luck with your Invitro though!!

your doctor would have caught a heart murmur while listening to your chest during an exam. gynecologist typically listen during your yearly exam. a lot of people have occasionaly premature beats that feel like bubbles.
