Hi there, i am a 24 year old male worried about having diabetes. For close to a year and a half i have had a lower to mid back pain (like a tight feeling) and urinary symptoms such as dribbling, retention, feeling like i always gotta go, I went into emerg and they found some sugar in my urine but refferred me to my GP who did 1 test for diabetes and said no to diabetes. I have been tested for everything else and nothing. After a while i developed pruitis ani and also groin itching which i think is related somehow to my problems but the doctors didn't think so. Anyways what do i do? I went back to see my urologist the other day and he said ther eis nothing wrong with me. Are you kidding me? before this i was as healthy asi can be and now i have things that only happen to immune compromised people such as itching and i also have folliculitis. Anyways any help would be great. is it possible it is autonomic neuropathy? Oh ya i forgot i have pains in my legs into my toes and hands

You need to keep going to the doctor until you get an answer. It sounds like you do have something wrong. The squeaky wheel gets oiled, keep going back.
Just remember a doctor only has a license to "practice" they do not know everything, so you need to keep going until you get an answer.

It is unlikely that you have diabetes if you have been tested but it is POSSIBLE to have another test done at your local health department. It is more likely that you do have Neuropathy. The test is not much fun but it can be done by a Neurologist. Let him know about the pain in your legs, toes, and hands. He will ask you 15,000 medical questions and possible complete the EMG either in his office or another. They are not "FUN" but they will tell whether or not you have Neuropathy there. I hope you find the problem. Have a great holiday!!

My brother and grandfather have a lot of these same symptoms. I am no doctor or anything but it seems that you may just be border line for diabetes.
Best thing you could do is to avoid sugars. Even natural sugars as much as possible. Exercise and take your blood sugar and record it regularly. three times a day. before you eat though. You can get those little machines at local drug stores, even log books. You just poke you finger put the blood on a little test stick and insert it into the machine. Record it in the log book. See a difference frequently and show your doctor.

best of luck for you, keep me updated, and you're in my prayers, i know it's tough.

You definitly need to find another doctor that takes this seriously. There are a lot of things that have those symptoms. Sooner is better than later I would say. I hope someone has done a complete blood work up and a few extra tests that they don't always ask for. It wouldn't be prudent of me to suggest anything other than seeing a better doctor and soon. Self diagnosis can be dangerous and sometimes fatal. Best Wishes to you.
