What are the symptoms of diabetes?
People who think they might have diabetes must visit a physician for diagnosis. They might have SOME or NONE of the following symptoms:
* Frequent urination
* Excessive thirst
* Unexplained weight loss
* Extreme hunger
* Sudden vision changes
* Tingling or numbness in hands or feet
* Feeling very tired much of the time
* Very dry skin
* Sores that are slow to heal
* More infections than usual.
Nausea, vomiting, or stomach pains may accompany some of these symptoms in the abrupt onset of insulin-dependent diabetes, now called type 1 diabetes.

Development of symptoms
In type 1 diabetes the symptoms tend to develop more quickly, over a couple of weeks, and are more severe. In type 2 diabetes the symptoms develop slowly and are usually not so severe.
The common symptoms of both types of diabetes are:
increased thirst
passing water frequently, especially at night
tiredness and fatigue
loss of weight
genital itching or recurrent thrush
In type 1 diabetes less common symptoms are:
cramps
constipation
blurred vision
recurrent skin infections
In type 2 diabetes symptoms may go unnoticed for years
In type 2 diabetes symptoms may go unnoticed for years, and only when complications of diabetes - such as foot ulceration or blurred vision occur - is the diabetes diagnosed. Remember that all the symptoms may not be present. Whenever any of these symptoms arise it's important to test for diabetes.
Diagnosing diabetes
Diabetes may be detected in a routine urine test where excess glucose is present. In the case of type 1 diabetes, people often develop symptoms over a short period of time, usually weeks. They may feel thirsty all the time and need to urinate a lot, and they may feel tired and lose weight.
A blood test that measures the level of glucose in the blood will confirm whether or not the underlying cause is, indeed, diabetes.

Type 1 diabetes is insulin dependant (Usually injecting)
Symptoms include:
Extreme thirst (constant, dehydration)
Urinating constantly (day and night)
fatigue, breathlessness
You should go to a doctor immediately if you have any of these symptoms. Unless he's docile like mine he should do a blood test and urine sample (testing for high glucose level and ketones)

Type 1 is legit. It is congenital and people are effected since birth. Their bodies have the inability to produce insulin.
Type 2 - This is all lifestyle. Our food supply is so crappy, that our bodies go crazy. We were not designed to eat this much grain.
Go to the website below and get educated on type 2. Your MD is probably giving you the wrong info. It is 100% preventable and is not hereditary.
