I'm sorry, but that is one of the silliest things I have ever heard in my life.

your friend is a liar and should have stayed in health class. lip gloss and lip balm has nothing to do with it the only stds you can get from kissing are the herpes zoster virus which is very contagious and you can see. and you can get mono which is the kissing disease. both are not curable but managable. watch out you babies need to stay in school especially if you dont even know this. good luck dont just kiss anybody you may regret it

Untrue. There's nothing in lip balm or lip gloss that would kill any germs you might get.

However, there aren't too many STD's passed through just mouth-to-mouth contact. Herpes can be, but that's not usually life-threatening. It is a non-curable condition though, so once you're infected, you'll always have it.

your friend is Correct! if every time you feel the urge to kiss someone, you reach for a tube of Chapstick and use said tube as a kissing tool instead of any of your own body parts, you will not catch any diseases from the kissed person. this is providing that you don't then take the tube and then use it on yourself. i think anything would work just as well. you could use a shoe to kiss someone with, a hamster, a watercolor rendering of J Lo.....all will help stave off Cooties. you are welcome

Definatly false! You should log onto web MD and search until your heart is content. Also I know that it maybe embarassing but your local health clinic will be more than willing to educate.
