I was treated for PID about 2 years ago. My fiance and I have been trying to conceive for about 10 months now. I'm beginning to think that the reason we can't get pregnant is because my fallopian tubes might have blockage from the previous PID problem. If I go to a Gyno how will they check? If I just go in and tell them that's what I want done, will they do it?
*I know he's fertile
*I know i'm ovulating
This has to be the problem! Please help!

They blow air up you cooter. If air comes out of your nose, you're not clogged. Sorry, had to. The test they do is called a hysterosalpingogram. It's done in the xray dept. The radiologist fills the uterus with a special radio-opaque contrast, and then uses a fluoroscope [real time xray] to visualize the Fallopian tubes. Many times this test will clear any blockage. Good luck.

Given the long-term complications PID can cause, such as infertility and ectopic pregnancy, it is recommended that you seek immediate medical attention if you have any of these symptoms:

Lower abdominal pain or tenderness

Fever greater than 101°F (38.3°C)

Abnormal or foul-smelling vaginal discharge

In curiosity..pelvic inflammatory disease right? Do you know how long you had a disease such as chlymidia before it went to pid...because I tried to get a doctor to check me for it a few years back...and asked him how i would know and he told me that i hadn't had chlymida long enough and i'd know if i had pid because i'd be rushed to the emergency room complaining of pain.

Sometimes it takes longer than 10 months and nothing could be wrong. But they can check you tubes by doing laprascopy. They used to blow air through them to see if they were open but I am sure they are more advanced now. Relax things will be fine.
