I've only tried soymilk (and I love it) and wanting to try rice milk. How does it taste? I'm curious.

I prefer vanilla soy milk. Rice milk is very similar.

Soy milk tastes MUCH better. I cannot imagine how the companies that only produce rice milk stay in business, because they taste AWFUL! I drink either EdenSoy Unsweetened (rich and creamy, never know it was unsweetened), or West Soy Unsweetened (thinner; my second choice). I've tried three different brands of rice milk (Rice Dream, Lundberg, and Harmony Farms, which went out of business a few years ago), and I couldn't stand ANY of them. Rice Dream was actually SALTY; Lundberg was too sweet for my taste; and Harmony Farms was just awful! (I know I sound like Goldilocks from the 3 Bears here, but I'm being honest)
That said, my cousin loves rice milk and thinks I'm nuts for being on the soymilk side of the equation. (But then, he eats a bunch of other stuff taht I wouldn't touch, so there you go)
Bottom line is: Rice milk is a love-it-or-hate-it deal. Try it if you want, but I doubt you'll like it very much if you already like soymilk.

They are both great, but I prefer soy to rice. I think you'll find the rice milk to be a little bit more on the watery side than the soy milk. Almond milk would be another great one for you to try that should be pretty readily available.

I prefer soy as that is what my household used to drink when my oldest could not have cows milk in the beginning when she was an infant. Rice milk to some is blah, as to where some like it. Only thing that I could suggest is to try the rice milk to test your own taste buds.

For cooking, I prefer soy. For drinking, nothing tops almond milk. It's the best. Rice milk is ok, but a little less rich than the others.

It does not have the depth or rich texture of Soy milk. I use Almond & Hazelnut milks. The health info on soy by products like Soy Milk is pretty negative.
Almond Breeze makes a rich lovely milk.

I don't really like either. They both taste kind of chalky. (But I do eat lots of both rice and tofu!)

I prefer almond milk. Yes, it has a distinctive flavor, but it's a flavor that I like.

Anyway, try several different types of non-dairy milk, and try a few different brands, as well. That's the only way to find out how they taste to you.

(And if it's just that you want something different, not that you're vegan, goats' milk is fairly readily available these days.)

I love both, but I find rice milk easier to drink alone. Otherwise if I'm cooking with it, I prefer soy.
