my friend says her uncle lived about 8 to 10 months with one lung and i didnt think people could live off of one lung for that lenght of time.please set the record straight.is she lying or am i correct?

I know a lady that is 87 years old and she had one lung removed 30 years ago and she is fine,she did at one time smoke but quit when she lost the lung.....So i don,t think there is a time limit as to how long you can live.

Yes, people can live quite long, even with only one lung. Her saying that he will live about 8-10 months may deal with another problem or the prognosis the doctor gave him as a worst case scenario.

You can live an to a normal life expectancy with only one lung, but you may some shortness of breath.
