If it's real tiny(to the point where you can't really make out the little circles)... then it's called Tobiko - which is flying fish roe.

If it has more of a reddish-orange tint to it and you can make out the little tiny circles and when you bite into it, it's "crunchy" like.. you can actually kind of hear it popping, then it's Masago - which is capelin roe

If they are big.. like.. you can actually use a pair of chopsticks and pick each one up, then it's Ikura - which is salmon roe (or otherwise known as salmon/red caviar)

That would be right but it's actually called roe, and in Japan they use a different (egg) roe Salmon roe is used mostly in north America. That's just because it's harder to get the same roe than they use in Japan. The roe is smaller and i think a little sweeter, i have heard the trout eggs are good to but i have not tried that.

If it's big orange "gobs", it's usually salmon eggs/salmon roe.

If it's the tiny orange balls (that look like pop rocks) it's usually flying fish roe.

Yum!

Yes it is, it is called roe. Depending on what it exactly looks like it could be the roe of a few different fish. I love it.

Salmon roe (fish eggs). I like the pop it makes when you bite them.

Well, since you say it's small, it's probably flying fish roe. So yes, they are flying fish eggs.
