When you boil the spaghetti, add about a cup of vegetable oil like olive oil or canola oil to the water. It will keep the pasta from getting gummy and sticky.

Make your noodles Al Dente (I think that is how it's spelled) Meaning that they are not completely done, still slightly chewy when you leave home, leave them in as much water as possible and add vegetable oil, about 1 tablespoon's worth. Oil prevents the noodles from sticking together and by the time you get to your destination the noodles will be done. Make sure you don't pour the sauce over it until it's ready to be served.

Undercook the noodles a bit, when you transfer them to the holding container, fill the noodle full container 1/4 with boiling water. Drive to the party and strain the noodles again and serve as you will.
I do this with ramen noodles (which are worse at being sticky than regular noodles because of high starch content) for lunch at my work and it hasn't failed yet. I sometimes let the ramen sit for hours in the refrigerator. I don't think it matters as long as the water is hot when you put it in the container.
Granted, I've never tried this for such a large quantity of noodles, but you may want to consider it.

You could put some olive oil in the spaghetti to keep it from sticking together and getting gross. That might actually be better than putting the sauce on it right away, because if it tips over in your car, there won't be a big red stain.

The actual Italian way to do it is to toss the pasta in the sauce. (just a light amount of sauce) You can also have extra sauce with meatballs in it on the side.

Add SOME sauce to transport, but not a whole lot. You'll still want sauce on the side to serve with it.

cook the pasta al dente and mix the sauce in the pasta. If you are worried about vegetarians, you can keep the meatballs on the side and people can add as they desire.

cook the noodles until desired tenderness, then put them back into a dish, add cold water and put a lid on it, wait until you get to the party, heat the sauce and enjoy

...i always run my noodles under cold water when they are done. Then I add the sauce to them---no gummy mess.Adding the sauce before hand will help the spaghetti pick up more of the flavor of the sauce........
