I had a sinus draining a couple of years back, which I found to be quite tolerable. does Rhinoplasty involve similar or more discomfort? These days a lot is heard about breathable nasal packs. If they are out why aren't they used in all the cases? Do they really work?

I recently, on December 13th, had rhinoplasty. I had a deviated septum and sinus draining and couldnt breath all that well out of my nose. I can't say whether or not it cured my problem of sinus drainage or the breathing, but I will say that it was not as horrible as I thought. I went in on wednesday and came out. I mentally prepared myself. I told myself that it was goign to be horrible and that I would have the worst pain of my life for weeks. It turned out that I have a small amout of pain, but it is dull. I have not and do not have any kind of shooting pain. The most painful part so far was when the packing was taken out, but that was more uncomfortable than anything else. I tried the breathable strips and none of them worked the way that I had hoped. I tried almost every spray out there and none of them helped my problem. I finally went to surgery. I'm still having a good amount of discomfort, but nothing that I'm not able to deal with.

I would probably say that long-term sinus drainage causes more discomfort than rhinoplasty. It has been four days since I had surgery and I think so far it is worth it. I would rather have a week to a month of pain and discomfort than a whole lifetime of discomfort.

If you have the resources to have the procedure I would highly recommend it! Make sure that you get a good plastic surgeon or a nose specialist.

I hope I answered your question! If you have any other questions about rhinoplasty then ask

If it makes you more beautiful in the long run, just go for it and don't worry about it. It isn't that terrible. Just stay home and rest for 2 weeks.
