I agree with some of the others that it's probably an ingrown hair that has become infected. I've had several of those on various parts of my body and they're no fun at all!
Often these will resolve themselves but it sounds like yours has become abscessed which will not usually heal on its own. You need to go to the doctor! They will drain it if it's serious enough and give you antibiotics and a cream to put on it. It hurts a lot while they are messing with it but it heals quickly with treatment.

While you're at the doctor ask them to do a type specific HSV test. Testing for herpes is not a part of standard STD testing so you have to ask for it.

Yes, there isn't any. Herpes is caused by a virus. Actually, there is little cure for viruses nowadays. The only thing that you can generally do in the case of a viral infection is strengthen the immune system and hope it fights it off. Not with Herpes, the immune system can't win against it. Thus you only get to treat the symptoms. Once you're infected, it stays with you for life. So don't get infected.

Personal experience. I have had genital herpes for over 5 years.

You don't have herpes, that was an infected hair. They are more common when you shave that area however, it's not uncommon to get infected hairs on your vagina. Take a deep breath and stop freaking girl your fine. But if you are really concerned you can always go be tested for herpes. The area that the infected hair may come back if you didn't get the core or the hair out of it. Most likely it will pop again and then go away. Perfectly normal where every you have hair your are subject to these uncomfortable critters. If you shave don't shave for a couple of days to make sure that it is healed. Good Luck!

From your description and symptoms it doesn't sound like it is herpes. Really it was probably like a cyst or a pimple. A cyst usually is bigger and it might feel a little harder and hurt and then yeah when it pops it oozes like pus. Have you ever had a fever blister? Genital Herpes is like a fever blister in your vagina.
If anything just go get checked out at the free clinic. I put a link about were you can see some pics of what its suppose to look like. They are graphic though. Hope it helps.

I got diagnosed with the herpes simplex virus (type 2) about 4 years back, when I was still in college and had a dumb one-night stand. I realize loads of girls say this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a mistake that one time and all of a sudden it seemed like I was going to have to live with the consequences for the rest of my life. The worst part was feeling I could never date guys again. In the end, who wants to go out with someone that has sores around her private parts? But since a friend shared this video https://tr.im/GhKO3 everything got better.

Not only was I able to eliminate all remnants of the herpes simplex virus from my body in less than 21 days, but I was also able to begin dating again. I even met the guy of my dreams and I'm so blessed to write that just a week ago, in front of everybody in a crowded restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me! This program provided me the opportunity to be happy and experience true love again. Now I hope that I can help others by sharing this story.

Definitely sounds like a simple ingrown hair. They can be pretty painful and annoying but there are medicines out there for getting them out of the way. I'm guessing you shaved down there or have heavy hair growth and the hair follicle became compacted? I've had them before too and I found that going to the dermatologist and getting simple medicines was my best bet. I was given Plexion shower wipes and Benzaclin Topical Cream. Hope that nasty thing goes away :)

Herpes usually cause a sharp pain. They present as a blister or a cluster of blisters. They don not usually have a white exudate. You most likely have a pimple which is nothing more than a clogged pore. If it persists, see your doctor.

It sounds like folicilitis. My girlfriend had the same issue. She freaked out, thought it was herpes, toar my head off, then it was later revealed it was an ingrown follicle that got infected. Did you see something like an ingrown hair in the pimple. If so, that's what it was..

The only thing you can do is go to a doctor. No one in Yahoo answers can give you a definitive answer. You need to know. The doctor will not judge you. They see and know all kinds of things and are there to help. If you do have it there are medications that can make it less distressing. You also need to know so that you do not pass it to others. Good luck.
