What does it mean when you are sitting down and your heart beats fast
Do that mean it is something wrong with you because one day i was sitting down and fell my heart and it was beating fast

You do not say what your age is. It doesn't really matter but if you are elderly you should see your doctor. It could be what they call SVT which is supraventricular tachycardia, where the heart beats in excess of what it should. When we are younger it is quite common to have a somewhat racing heart, however, as we age, the beat should gradually decline a little, not speed up. A doctor's appointment is the way to go. This depends on how fast and what type of rhythm. Your doctor can check you out with an EKG and other tests. Some people on here may tell you that this is an anxiety or panic attack but you should know that anxiety can only trigger a fast heartbeat. There is usually something that is more of an underlying cause.

I had the same thing happen, and I went and got it checked out, the doctor said it was an anxiety attacks. But that was only my personal experience. The best thing to know for sure is to go to the doctor. Heart disease runs in my family, and you don't want to mess around with that.

how fast was it beating and what is normal for you....everyone has a different rate and what be fast for someone is normal for another person...a heartrate will increase with exertion,exercise,caffeine,other drugs,fright and other things like that..,was it a temporary episode that went away after resting...when in doubt you should ask your doctor
