if you are lactose intolerant

If you are lactose intolerant, you can get that - or gas/bloating - from any dairy product (even bread, from the whey present).

You can "become" lactose intolerant, even if you weren't previously (mine developed at the age of 14). Some people develop it at middle-age, and are unable to digest milk and cheese (but have no problems with bread, for example).

Try taking some Lactaid pills (over the counter) with the cheese and see if it helps. They are all-natural and provide the lactase enzyme that your body is no longer producing that causes the inability to digest the milk sugar.

Why some cheeses might cause problems where others don't, is explained at Wikipedia under "Lactose Intolerance":

"Many people are more tolerant of yogurt than milk because it contains lactase produced by the bacterial cultures used to make the yogurt. Also, hard cheeses (e.g. Swiss) produce far less reaction than the equivalent amount of milk because the cheese making and ageing processes greatly reduce the amount of lactose. A typical Swiss or Cheddar might contain 5% of the lactose found in whole milk, while long-aged cheeses contain almost no lactose at all..."

There is a possibility if you are Lactose Intolerant. If this is the case then normally when ever you consume Milk Products you would get an upset stomach. I have this problem, depending on the actual product I am eating, and how much I have eaten, ice cream, a glass of milk, or maybe cheese, I might get an upset stomach, diarrhea or just cramps...

Yes...

This condition can occur as a symptom of infection, allergy, food intolerance, foodborne illness and/or extreme excesses of Vitamin C and/or magnesium and may be accompanied by abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting. Temporary diarrhea can also result from the ingestion of laxative medications or large quantities of certain foods like prunes with laxative properties. There are other conditions which involve some but not all of the symptoms of diarrhea, and so the formal medical definition of diarrhea involves defecation of more than 200 grams per day (though formal weighing of stools to determine a diagnosis is never actually carried out).

Diarrhea occurs when insufficient fluid is absorbed by the colon. As part of the digestion process, or due to fluid intake, food is mixed with large amounts of water. Thus, digested food is essentially liquid prior to reaching the colon. The colon absorbs water, leaving the remaining material as a semisolid stool. If the colon is damaged or inflamed, however, absorption is inhibited, and watery stools result.

Yes, I'm lactose intolerant and I get that after eating all milk products.

I would advise you to cut dairy products out of your diet for a while and then slowly reintroduce to see if that helps at all. If not it's best to totally avoid them (as I have to do).

Yes.

You could get listeriosis ( from a kind of bacteria that grows in improperly processed or stored cheese)

Or you could be lactose intolerant.

Perhaps you are or have become lactose intolerant. Does any dairy product bring that situation upon you? If so, bring it up with your doctor.
