And club together and buy them a meat hamper to be double certain eh??? ;0)
Michael you are a comic genius!!!
LOL!! I'm in. Yes that is shocking it is vile just how ingnorant I was when I was eating meat. I think that it is funked up that v/CJD can lie dormant for 40 years.I think it is awful (am I alone in walking past those specially prepared xmas roasts thinking to myself, 'OMG ANDIE, that was a happy little animal running around in a field or a nice cute turkey eating corn (or whatever on SOME farms) or a beautiful semi wild bird living on some 'Lord Snott's' Estate shot by a group of 'hooray Henries and Henriettas' and then hung to slowly rot to get that 'gamey flavour?'
I think it is awful how vegetarians are rare in the North of England too. People tend to think you are freaky so I say nothing. One day at work I asked what the veggie option in the canteen was and some well meaning worker said 'oh you've just missed the fish love. ' (Fish is not a vegetable , ever) I bought an apple!! I work in a MASSIVE office complex . I only know 3 Vegetarians that work there (including me.)
They can eat meat if they want to, if someone wants to there is nothing we can do to stop it . This world is the 'Meatrix' . I couldn't eat the stuff ever again!!!
That's why I like to come here and talk to like minded people.

WWell we can't be really sure if the meat you'e ate is infected or not.They say meat from year 1990's to...whatever are infected and so and so,but how can we tell if the meat we're eating now is safe?Guess we'll have to wait 10-40 years before we know it.
So all i can say live for today, enjoy your life while it last coz one thing fer sure all of us will be going to only one destination that is the Black Parade.

It kind of scares me that I ate meat for the better part of nineteen years and I could have this.
"Is this justice ?"
- No. This hardly makes up for the unnessasy suffering of over 10 billon animals in the U.S. alone.
"and should we now encourage some members of society to eat MORE meat just to be sure."
- They don't really need any incoragement.

Eating meat is like playing Russian Roulette.
=============== ===================
According to Hawley, M.D., medical director Whitman-Walker Clinic, Washington, D.C., a cardinal rule is:
"Any raw animal-derived food MUST be considered to be contaminated with harmful microorganisms. Under no circumstance should a high-risk person consume unpasteurized MILK or raw or undercooked EGGS, POULTRY, FISH, SHELLFISH or MEAT."

Maybe we should, ha ha. I had to search what vCJD was (Mad Cow Disease for anyone else who wasn't sure). My son at least (if I can help it) will never have to worry about that.

I think it highlights the point that, if you do eat meat, make sure it's good quality, well reared and humanely treated. You are what you eat after all...
