I am throwing a sports themed party for my 8 year old son and I have no idea on what to serve. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Pizza. A simple answer I know, but it is always a favorite. My twins are now ten, and more often than not pizza is what they ask for at their birthday parties. Make it easy on yourself. Cheese and pepperoni are the most popular toppings for children at this age. You can't go wrong.

my kids love dogs in a blanket, ie: buy some canned bisquits or croisant rolls. and hotdogs.. wrap up the hotdogs in a bisquit, pop into oven and bake till browned. (I half the dogs to make them more mini kid sized)
also you can do mini pizzas. with just about anything. if you cant find mini pizza bottoms, cut a french loaf into slices, toast bottoms, then on top, pop some ketchup, cheese and a couple of olives or pepperoni, (or thinly sliced hotdog coins) bake for 8-10min till cheese melts.
big bowls of assorted chips, cheetos, doritoes, lays, etc. chocolate cake is a must, all kids like chocolate cake. and a huge bowl of cheapo individually wrapped candies to grab and stick in pockets for later. (mine love this, I dont know why, they are horders) .. and the utmost love is rice crispee treats (recipe on rice crispee cereal)

hamburger

Hot dogs, hamburgers, potato chips, veggies with dip, finger jello, nuts, a little candy, sport theme cake, ice cream.

Anything of that sort would work! :o)

go to allrecipes.com..type in cream cheese penguins..they are sooooooooooooo cute..very cheap to make and with the popularity of all of the penguin movies right now, i am sure that all the kids will love them!!! BUT--to get my full gist, you have to see the cute picture of them on allrecipes! Hope that helps! (they are actually the featured recipe of the week 12/13/06 and are on the home page right now!)
