I keep quite a lot of palpitations and chest pain on the right side which is sometimes also on my right arm.. is there any way at all this could be related to the heart? I had a doctor listen to my heart twice 2 years ago.. the first time brought out a murmer and I had a chest x ray(which was okay).. the second time it wasn’t there.. so she just shrugged it off as a inocent murmer…. Which means really.. there is still a 50% chance that its not innocent.. ( my aunt does have one ).. I do have anxiety but a lot of the time Im completely relaxed when the palpitations occur – and the pain is usually when im in bed so im not excersizing…. Im slim weight, don’t drink/smoke, but do eat a *LOT* of salty and fatty foods.
My resting relaxed heart rate is on average - 77bpm

Any ideas?

Can you tell im a bit of a hypocodriac!?!!?!

Oh and also im 17... and my grandad has strokes, as well as my aunts murmer - heart problems could be in the family...

(sorry!)

Cut down on the salty and fatty foods for one thing. Not healthy and they aggravate your heart and arteries. The fat clogs your arteries and the salt speeds up your heart rate. If you eat more fruit and rice then you may be able to stave off a stroke and or heart attack. Talk to your doctor to see what else can be done.

People with an anxiety syndrome are prone to palpitations.Get an echo test and a stress test done and consult a cardiac doctor. In view of ur salt intake the blood pressure too may need to be monitored. Why not give up on the fat and reduce the salt too.In view of the pain on the right side and too much fat consumption, liver function tests may also need to be done.If all these tests are certified to be ok by a doctor and u still worry then u sure are a hypochondriac.

I am a heart patient. A healthy dose of food is the best curse of action for you. No salt and fatty foods. I refrain from oil, grease and deep fried stuff. I eat more veggies, low carbohydrates. No sweets and no sugar. Low sugar peanut butter, peanuts, yoghurt.
