I have had a cold and cough for almost 2 weeks now. I also weeze at times. Does this sound like bronchitis or just the common cold?

I agree--go see a doctor! Particulary a respiratory specialist! I always had bronchitis/pneumonia since I was a kid. This time, after being Dx'd with GERD and COPD and 12 days in hospital, they vaccumed out my lungs of old pflegm! But my pulmonary specialist gave me the key to PREVENTION! He said that I had "silent reflux" and that at night, the gastric acids was back-washing up my esophagus and "leaking" into my lungs. He said to get a cinder block under the head of my bed frame and sleep on an INCLINE! I did and it's done WONDERS!! Putting the block on the side provides a 4" incline and easy to sleep on--AND DOES THE TRICK FOR ME! No more clearing of my throat; no more colds; coughing etc.!!! I'm 77 now and it's been 1 1/2 yrs since the hospital stay. I've been free of colds etc. Of course, I take zinc and all sorts of vits and mins--but I always DID--and still came down with respiratory stuff until I inclined my bed!

I'm trying to answer as many of the respiratory Q's that I can--as this was such a SIMPLE SOLUTION; inexpensive and at no risk to try it!!

I still use my Advair 2x's/day and will stick with it. But I know that the reflux caused the initial probs all my life! I'm 77 now and walk a 4mph, 2 miles in 30 mins regularly and am BREATHING EASY! That's the strange thing about reflux, because I always HAVE walked that much and that fast and was still never short of breath nor mouth-breathing! But always clearning my throat; having colds etc.

Colds normally last 7-10 days, sounds like bronchitis to me. See a Dr and he will probably put you on anti-biotic's and an inhaler for the wheezing.. Hope you feel better soon!
