Honestly.. I don't know who told you it's an STD.. because it's not... after I had my son... I'd say it was s few months.. I had to have the same procedure, and what that is is where you have cells on your cervix that showed up on your pap smear to be not normal and to be safe .. so it don't progress into cancer, the doctor will freeze your cervix... to kills the irregular cells.... alot of women have that procedure.. it definatly is not an STD.. so don't listen to that... as a matter of fact talk to your doctor about and ask him to explain it to you better...you'll see it's really nothing to worry about.. don't kick your husband out over misinformation... good luck

You need to ask your Dr. what it is you have exactly. If it is an STD you may have had it for a long time and it just went untreated, maybe even before you were married. Or maybe it was something your husband passed on to you. It might not even be a STD, don't listen to anybody but your Dr. By the way before you have any medical procedure find out what you have, how much of a risk it is to your health, discuss how you may have acquired it, what the side effects of treatment are, and if the treatment will cure it.

Your doctor didnt tell you the details? Thats strange?

Most likely it is warts and your husband might not be responsible for this.

Update on my Answer.... Some of these answers are completley incorrect. The woman who said that she "was at high risk for HPV" You misheard...you HAVE high risk HPV, the kind that does not cause warts and yes, you will have to go to the doctor until you have a normal pap. Also, the woman who says that it is not a STD, yes it is. It sounds bad to have an STD, but approx 80% of women will have some form of HPV before they are 50, so it is no big deal. Most people deveolp High-risk hpv, but some get Low-risk hpv that causes warts.

I hope you find this info more clear...after a year of HPV, i know my facts...it is unfortunate that some women dont.

Don't kick your husband out yet. HPV is extremely common, affecting up to 75-80% of women before the age of 50 who have been sexually active. It can also lie dormant for decades, and tends to come out as either warts or cervical dysplasia when your immune system is down. You could have gotten it from a previous partner, or your husband could have gotten it from a previous partner and this could have happened a very long time ago. Also, do not beat yourself up over this. It is extremely common, and there are a lot of people who have it, they just never know it because they never show symptoms.

It is related with HPV. But it does not necessarily mean you have HPV. I just recently had a freeze b/c my gyno saw some bad cells on my cervix so she told me I was at a very high risk for HPV, but now I'll just have to get paps every 3 mths. until I get 3 consecutive good pap tests. And no, I do NOT have warts, the freeze helped me b/c so far I've had 2 good paps

It may be warts, could be from HPV. I've heard from a gynecologist that up to 80% of the population could have this virus. It lays dormant for months to years in your body and then produces warts for some women. Don't kick the hubby out yet, ask the doctor some questions. BTW, the HPV virus in the leading cause of cervical cancer...there's a vaccine now for young girls.

it sounds like HPV or genital warts...

genital warts can lie dormant for a long time...meaning you could have gotten this way before you were with your husband...

unless he is the only one you have been with in that case kick him to the curb
