There is no such insulin made. That word is not even searchable. Are you sure you don't mean Lantus Insulin?

I think you may mean Levemir made by nordisk the makers of novolog. It is nordisk's version of lantus, it's been out about a year. Thats all I know about it I know of 2 type 1's that went from lantus 2x a day to Levemir 2 x a day. They say its works a bit better for them then the lantus did. I am a type 1 also and I use Lantus 2 x a day and novolog as my rapid insulin. The Levemir comes in the same pen style as novolog. The lantus pen is a hassle to use.

Levemir is the brand name for detemir which is produced by a company called Novolin. It should be available at all pharmacies and the preferred form is the FlexPen system rather than a multi dose vial. Detemir and glargine (Lantus - manufactured by Lilly) are the only long acting or basal insulins which are appropriate to use at this time. Glargine appeared first but its pen system is not as convenient. Each company also makes a rapid acting insulin. Novolin's is aspart (Novolog) while Lilly's is lispro (Humalog) and these are the only rapid acting insulins which are appropriate to use at this time. Both companies produce combination insulins containing rapid and long acting insulins.
