you will actually still cough while in your sleep is just that you just dont notice and dont feel it that much next time you or someone in your house hold do happen to get sick monitor them while sleeping you will see we still cough

But, we DO cough when we are asleep. It wakes us up. Haven't you ever had a bad cold or bronchitis and been awakened every few minutes all night couging your head off? We cough worse at night because when we lie flat, our nasal secretions drip down the back of our throats and make us cough. That is why ther are meds like Nyquill that supress the coughing urge so we can get some sleep.

I think if you are sick and coughing all day, especially when we are trying to sleep most of the times we do cough and that is terrible.

I cough in my sleep. It wakes me up though. If you have mucous build up in your lungs, your body will try to remove it.
