Dear Mike,

I know that after my dads bypass he hurt for several weeks. The incision site was very sore and laughing or coughing caused him alot of discomfort. If I were you I would contact your md and ask for more pain meds. Also try to move more so that the muscles don't become stiff. I wish you good luck.

Frankly I had bypass (CABG) on 2nd October, 2006, and after 2 days all the pains were gone. I have refused to take pain killer, as I was not feeling any pain.
Keep yourself educated that these pains are due to yours operation or due to Pneumonia. I feel taht may be due to Pneumonia you are feeling bad.
It appears that On Pump sugery was performed, and you have not excercised for yours lungs with Spyrometer, so taht you have got this infection.
Yousr Physician for Pneumonia will tell you better, how to take care of yourself.
Be Confident taht if after yours opeartion you have recovered, you too will recover from this pains. My good prays are for you Mike.

Pain is subjective, it depends on the individual.
