I take L-Lysine 1000 mg a day- Also be sure and read as mush material as possible on the condition. I also take these special herbs (9 herbs Combination). You can go to New World Product.Com. Herpes can effect you emotionally, mentally and physically. The mental part can really weight you down if you are not educated on it, however there are people out there living a normal life with Genital Herpes, that was a question that I ask about a week ago, and the result was great. Please educated yourself on the disease so that you can feel good about yourself. Because you will go Thur different changes if you are not educated on it. good luck

I got clinically diagnosed with herpes (type 2) about 5 years ago, when I was still attending college and had a silly one-night stand. Depending on where you are for the Lips it is recommended Zovirax is good to help with Cold Sore HSV1 outbreak over the counter medicine also..
Genital Herpes HSV2 ..Valtrex is prescribed from your Doctor either for ongoing maintenance say 1 X 500mg per day or to take when outbreak is imminent via tingling itches etc...dose age depends on how severe etc...
Emotionally it's initially quite devastating and there are support groups around to help with concerns.
It is not life threatening and a normal healthy life can be enjoyed with precautions taken and medication available.♥

I take Valtrex only when I feel a breakout coming on. And my dentist prescribes Denovir for any around my lips. This is now available over the counter. It works best when you apply at first tingle but always heals it within days.
