For about 1-1/2 years I've had a constant sinus infection. My doctor and allergist have tried numerous regimes of antibiotics but it never seems to go away. Can sinus infection cause other ailments?

I had the same problem for many years. Finally, I gave in and had surgery. The space between the tissues in my nasal cavity were too small to allow drainage. After the surgery and a few weeks of recovery, I didn't need sinus decongestants or a regimen of antibiotics for the first time in my life! I've been free of sinus infections for a little over two years. However, just in the last month, I am beginning to have congestion again. I will not hesitate to have the surgery again if that's what it takes. Only this time I won't wait so long.

I have spoken with several people that swear by sinus irrigation as a backup cure for sinus infection. A nurse friend even performs them at the first sign of infection, and can sometimes avoid medication entirely.

The process involves pouring saline solution in one nostril until it runs clean from the other, then reversing nostrils. It sounds revolting at first, and feels extremely odd, but afterwards, you'll never believe how clean you sinuses could feel.

Discuss the option with your doctor. Assuming he has no objections, the needed materials are fairly inexpensive, and simple to use.

I suggest the following all natural supplements.

NutriFeron: strengthen and build immune system

Alfalfa Complex: reduces effect of inflammatory endorphins, natural anti-histamine

Garlic Complex: reduces inflammation, natural sinus and nasal decongestant

Zinc Complex: promotes healing of nasal passages.

Hope this is useful and feel free to contact me with questions.

Use saline nasal mist several time a day...Even when you are feeling better....It beats back/fights infection and keeps everything lubricated as well...and to boot its natural and cheap and it can't hurt!

If it's that bad, surgery may be an option.

I feel your pain...I have chronic sinus infections too and they suck!

You need to beef up your immunity. Hot packs might help as well.
