I am a mother of two under 3 and need a few ideas for cookbooks that prefer using whole grains. I don't like using faux meat and eat soy products (tofu, tempeh) maybe once a week. Not to mention they need to be semi-easy to work with. I am vegetarian, but prefer to eat vegan most of the time. Any books to accomadate my family????

Try stir fry. Get a large skillet, if you don't have a wok. A little bit of oil, I like sunflower about a teaspoon. Let it get hot. Cut up your veggies. Almost any will work. Broccolli, onions, bok choy, celery, carrots etc. Pick two or three and toss them in, stir they will cook quickly. Add some sauce like soy or oyster (not really made from oysters), sweet and sour. Eat as is or over rice.

In the superstore, fruits are usually picked out far too soon. Some are rocks, many are bitter. Some of the fruit and vegetables are generally right (zucchini, onions, garlic, lettuce, greens, and a few others) so I'd have to go with vegetables.

Vegan with a Vengeance
That book is awasome. I own it myself.
You can buy it at borders, but if you prefer to buy it online, then you can buy it at amazon.com or ebay.
