I am thirsty all the time (really dry mouth). I am tired a lot, especially around 2-3 o clock in the afternoon even though I sleep about 9-10 hours a night. I also have to pee a lot, especially after a coke or something like that....maybe once an hour or two....any thoughts??? My grandparents had diabetes, but no one in my immediate family does...is it possible that I could have it?

It does sound like diabetes but a docotr should confirm it with tests. Just because you have all the symptoms doesn't necessarily mean you have it.

Go see your doctor and get checked for diabetes. It doesn't matter if anyone in your immediate family has diabetes, if it is in the family there is always a chance that you could have it too. I am diabetic myself and I remember what I was like when I first found out. It doesn't hurt to get checked out by your doctor just so you know, better to be safe than sorry later on. Being tired a lot, very thirsty, and peeing a lot are three signs that I had, as well as eating a lot and losing lots of weight fast but I never thought of diabetes. I found out by a routine physical checkup and my blood sugars were very high. So its best to go get checked now rather than waiting. Good luck.

The caffene in the Coke can be a diuretic to a lot of people. Try drinking no caffene soda's. The sleepiness in the afternoon could also be a symptom of Hypo-glycemia, which is kind of the opposite of Diabetes. Best thing is to see a health professional and get a check up and blood tests done to be sure. You symptoms can be linked to more that just Diabetes.

those are very common signs of diabetes. I am a type 2 diabetic. I went to my doctor with almost the exact same questions that you have. Check around, some Hospitals will test you for free if you're concerned.

Go to the doctor and get your blood tested if you are that concerned. Peeing once an hour or two is NOTHING. If you were going every 5 minutes, then that's a problem. You would also get yeast infections and urinary tract infections a LOT.....no matter if you are male or female.

it's possible. However, eating too much fish/ seafood can actually makes you thirsty.
