I have had diabetes for 25 years. I'm on the pump, in good control. Currently taking Humalog, Yasmin and Lexapro....and for some good forsaken reason I have these very intense outbreaks for days on end where every little ounce/inch of my body itiches. I'm so miserable. Does anyone have a clue why this happens and or what I can do to help it. Thank you in advance.

I am also diabetic, I always have the pharmacist double check the interactions of drugs that I am taking. Especially when my doctor starts me on a new medication or gives me a prescription for something. How long have you been taking all three medications together? Perhaps, it is a side effect of the Yasmin, is it around the same time every month, could be the strength of the drug at the time period. Maybe you should bring it to your doctor's attention. Or it could be the Lexapro how long have you been on this one? check with your doctor, that would be your best bet. Good luck.

As others said, I also think that it is related with allergy. I have pollen allergy for about 8 years and I know what "every little inch of my body itches" means. What my doctor said to me was, there are three possibilities to do against allergy. 1- If you find the reason of the allergy try to escape from the allergen. Basically to determine what causes allergy to you, try to exclude one item that seems suspicious from your life each time and try if anything changes. For example, if you have allergy against banana, try not to eat it. The effective and the easiest way is to have an allergy test. 2- Some items you cannot take out of life, but you know when you will face with it such as pollens, etc. Take allergy pills during the season. 3- If you have allergy against something that is always around you, such as dust, you should be immunized against the allergen. I have never seen such a thing but I heard that it is painful. Doctors giving the allergen to your body by increasing the amount.

Itching can be caused by insect bites like mosquito bites, heat rashes or allergic reactions. Aloe vera gel , apple cider vinegar or vitamin E oil can be effectively used on the affected skin.

LG is very smart. It sounds like an allergic reaction. Are any of these meds new to you? If so, see your doctor.
