This is because HIV/ AIDS is a scourge that must be stopped before Africa is wiped off the surface of the earth. Inspite the campaign on HIV / AIDS the sciurge is still outrageous, people in the most premitive parts of Africa does not understand and they that do, do not believe it is true that HIV is real. Besides the preventive or treatment rather which is not even the cure is not reaching the real people. The infection rate is far beyond the treatment rate. They are treating two while fifteen is contacting it.

The question that you should ask yourself is "If there is a cure for HIV, will Africans receive any help?"

There are cocktails available which will allow people with HIV to have a decent life span. However, this is normally only available in 1st world countries / or people that can afford it.

The sadness to this issue is that education is the reason why AIDS has spread so much in Africa. Neglect, by pharmaceuticals companies is a part of the problem, but not the whole problem.

Clinton has been working on this since he departed office, and finally on AIDS day, a couple of weeks ago, a breakthrough was made to allow cheaper drugs for such countries.

i think the American government already has a cure for this, but they would rather not let everyone know about it because they would lose a lot of money. a lot of people spend money on their doctor, medication and treatment for this, so if they just had a cure for it, money would be lost. and let's face it, next to time, money is man's worst enemy.

HIV is a very difficult virus to develop a vaccine for because of the various subtypes and the fact it keeps mutating.

Unfortunately, I don't believe we will see a cure in our lifetime.
