Yup the readings are high. To be diagnosed with hypertension, a person should get a BP of >140/90 on 2 separate occasions. But of course, make sure that when they got her BP she is not in stress or exhausted. When she's diagnosed with hypertension, there maybe a lot of causes like renal problem, endocrine or hormone problem or there could be none or idiopathic and it is just genetics or it runs in the family. She should be further evaluated by her doctor doing some laboratory tests just to be sure. The most common type of hypertension is idiopathic meaning there's no apparent cause and is just in the family. After the evaluation, the doctor might advice diet, exercise and will prescribe medication. Just stick to it and follow the doctor to prevent major consequences of uncontrolled BP like kidney problem, heart disease, stroke or eye problem. You know that prevention is the still the best cure.

There are no ideal blood pressure but there are some guidelines..
110/70 and 125/80 is considered to be an average blood pressure or a normal blood pressure for a grown person, though someone with naturally low blood pressure may be closer to a range of 100/60..
140/90 is considered to be high, though as a person gets older, this falls into the more normal range for people.
Many people try to be away from using medication, and so you can change your diet and lifestyle...

This person is considered Stage 2 Hypertensive, which is characterized as a systolic blood pressure reading (top number) of 160 or greater, and a diastolic blood pressure (bottom number) of 100 or greater. Lifestyle modifications are strongly encouraged, and she should definately see a doctor to get some antihypertensive medications prescribed to her.
The doctor will more than likely want to see her over a period of time and monitor her blood pressure to see if they can determine the actual cause of it.
But definately get to a doctor because the side effects of untreated high blood pressure are terrible!
Hope this helps!!!

They are high. In fact they are nearly the same as mine and my doctor has put me on 2 different types of blood pressure reducing tablet. I was told that I must get it down to avoid heart problems. I have to lose some weight and reduce my cholesterol. The lady should go to the GP and have a chat with them - they take 3 readings of blood pressure to make sure it is consistently high xxxx

when were they taken?
Your blood pressure fluctuates, it has to, so if you are exercising your blood pressure will rise. It will also rise if you are nervous.
for an acurate reading you need to be at rest and for it to be taken by someone medically qualified with an old fashioned sphyg.
Have one taaken by yur doctor and if you are using a home sphyg take that with you and take a reading at the same time - this will give you an idea of how acurate your own sphyg is. Your doctor can give you advice on lowering our BP too.

that is a bit low and you should keep an eye on it. it maybe that you are one of those people who has naturally low blood pressure and that is normal for you. 120/80 is considered the normal for blood pressure. if you feel dizzy or faint you should see your doctor to make sure it is not a more serious problem

They are high, i suffer from high blood pressure ,and the doctor informed me that 140/80 should be looked at as a safe top limit, though you need to take readings at different tiomes as pressure can fluctuate depending on activities .either way you should see your doctor and get proffessional advice.

No, this is high blood pressure, in medical terms hypertension.
The top higher figure is called the systolic and the bottom lower figure is called the diasystolic. According to World Health Organisation definitions, hypertension occurs when the systolic is equal or greater than 150mmHg and diasystolic is equal or greater than 90mmHg.
