You will get your result straight away. I hope you don't have diabetes, but if your test does indicate that you might you will have to go to see a dr for more extensive blood tests. Lloyds test for high blood sugar, which can sometimes have other causes. If you do have diabetes all your prescriptions will be free on the NHS, but it is a complex condition to control - I don't want to be mean but a simple prescription won't be the end of it - sorry. Cross that bridge if you come to it.
If you are having extreme symptoms (eg. going to the toilet several times during the night, so thirsty you really can't stop drinking at all), don't waste time waiting for your pharmacy appointment - go urgently to your GP or hospital.
BTW nearly all of the above answers relate only to type 2 diabetes - this is the most common kind, but young healthy people can develop diabetes (type 1) which has different causes and treatment. Fasting glucose tolerance etc. only applies to type 2 diabetes, and in response to the first answer (as I've understood it - it's a bit unclear) - though type 2 diabetes can sometimes get "better" so that people no longer need medication for a while, once you have diabetes it doesn't go away (unless you got it during pregnancy).
Good luck xx

A diabetes test from time of finger prick to meter read out should take no longer than one minute.
If the result is unfavorable, you should see your doctor. One bad result does not make you a diabetic.
Meters can get expensive.
The cost depends on what drug you get placed on. Some of them are cheap and some are expensive. The same is true with Insulin. The new ones are rather expensive, but the old insulin is cheap.

Many common natural remedies are claimed to have blood sugar lowering properties that make them useful for people with or at high risk of diabetes. Learn here https://tr.im/VSmAq
A number of clinical studies have been carried out in recent years that show potential links between herbal therapies and improved blood glucose control, which has led to an increase in people with diabetes using these more 'natural' ingredients to help manage their condition.

Think the results are available straight away but would depend on the test used. My mate is diabetic & I think you get free prescriptions for conditions like that

A test done at a pharmacy will give you only sketchy information. You need a glucose tolerance test and Hga1c

confident, its needed for you and your toddler to get this try. i'm 28 weeks pregnant now and that i in simple terms had the try the different day. Its truly no longer undesirable in any respect. The drink tasted like one greater candy orange soda that had long gone flat, and the needle prick substitute right into a pair of a million/2 a 2d long, lots swifter than greater than a number of the blood exams i are growing to be in the previous. If something, i could could desire to declare the worst area of the try is sitting in the waiting room for an hour bored out of my concepts. deliver a sturdy magazine to maintain your self occupied.

Well you prick your funger and it takes 3 seconds. Go to the Dr and get the glucose fast blood test done. That will tell you if you really have it. I failed and after 6 months post delivery I think it is gone now.
