Loose tea and a good pot, like a "brown betty" tea pot. About a teaspoon of loose tea per cup. Warm your pot by swirling hot water in it for a few seconds then add your tea and then boiling water. Let it steep about five minutes before you pour. As for cream..it's personal taste but if you are going to add it, add it to the cup FIRST so that you don't scald the milk by adding it to the hot liquid after. If added after it tends to give a sour after taste. Sugar or honey is fine. If you love tea, stash tea is a good site for tips tricks and tea!

When I lived in Russia this is what I learned. To make the best cup of tea you must first make sure you actually boil the water, it makes the tea better for two reasons; the boiling water causes the leaves to give up their aroma and flavor better, and boiled water acts more quickly so that you do not end up with stewed tea.

I personally use either loose or bags depending on the tea type I am drinking at that moment and what I am doing.

If I am sitting down to read a book or chat with a friend I will usually use loose tea, for the ritual of it all and the flavor. When I use loose tea it always use one teaspoon of leaves per person and one for the pot.

If I am going to class, busy, or running around I will use bag tea for the convienence and ease. Bag teas are also nice for the single serving aspect and all the varieties. But remember to pull the bag out after no more than 5 minutes or you will be drinking stewed tea, which is bitter.

When it comes to what goes into my tea it depends on the tea I am drinking. If it is loose Russian tea I use honey and lemon. I like Orange Pekoe with a spoonful of sugar. Earl Grey with sugar, too.

How you drink your tea is up to you and what you like, just like all the different types of tea. So good luck and hope you enjoy you tea.

I prefer loose leaf tea. The better quality tea leaves are used for loose leaf, and it has more flavor than teabags.

Here's a link to my favorite teapot. http://www.adagio.com/teaware/ingenuiTEA_teapot.html?SID=3b50898bde0f6a89e77750668e110047
I fill it with water and microwave the pot, wait about three minutes, then place it on my cup. A valve in the bottom of the pot opens and tea pours out of the bottom into the cup. The nylon mesh screen keeps tea leaves from slipping into my cup.

I also buy my loose-leaf tea from this site. I prefer the black teas, and usually drink earl grey or Ceylon Sonata.

I always use loose tea at home, if I am away from home my tea things come with me. If I am just going out with friends I take along tea sticks, which are basically little disposable tea infusers with loose tea inside. In green tea I use honey. Earl Grey-sugar. Black tea-lemon and cream. Orange tea-plain. Ice tea-lime.

Jasmine White Tea (bagged if I could find it loose I would use that) With some creamer and country honey ( not the clear honey that everyone uses but a thicker creamier honey)
