probably something 2 do with back in the day they could have thought it was a demon or somthin inside you.

It was believed that you sneezed your soul out of your body in the middle ages. People would ask God to cram your soul back into your body before the devil had chance to play with it. Thankfully that got shortened to Bless you.

That should only be said when someone sneezes Sweetie...
Cuz when you sneeze, the body muscles/organs contract and there is no intake of oxygen...thus could result in death...so, therefore, people began saying God Bless You, because we didnt know if it was your last breath...make sense?

It arose from the era of the bubonic plague. The plague gave cold and flu like symptoms then led to death, so when someone started coughing and sneezing they were almost certainly dead therefore someone would bless them.

Because it was thought that your heart stops when you do so and when that happens spirits were able to enter your body. Saying God bless you prevented the spirits from entering.

Someone told me once that when you sneeze, your heart skips a beat or stops. So people say Bless you in hopes that your heart will beat again.

Well..I heard it was because a very long time ago when people caughed and sneezed they thought their souls were leaving and if you said "God bless you" quick enough your spirit would not leave.

its from hundreds of years ago when people believed the soul was contained in the head. they believed that if you sneezed hard enough then your soul might escape, so they said "bless you" in hopes that god would save your soul from escaping. sorry, not exact but general answer
