Does it count towards being a vegetarian if I only eat animals that are vegetarian. I know for sure I haven't eaten any carnivores(lions, tigers, bears etc. etc.) and the like. Am I making the right contribution..

Note to Vegon & Vegon & proud, pehaps it's all the vegetables that you eat that cause the verbal DIARRHEA you appear to be suffering from, we all know you veggies are a FARTIE lot, it also seems to deprive you of a sense of humour, It was a joke you know!!!

Anwer to Xanthe The answer was correctly spelt by English spelling standards, the right way, the only way, the Queens English way. What you yanks do with it is abysmal. "Honor" honour, "humor", humour etc, etc, need I say more. The language is English, you yanks haven't got a language of your own, you stole ours, so butt out.!!!!

I think that eating your fellow vegetarian animals is not particularly helpful to the vegetarian cause (though I believe that eating any kind of animal is something of a violation of vegetarian rules). After all, these animals have been much more saintly than yourself over all the years of their short life, not only refusing to eat other animals, but also refusing to include humans in their diet, and what do you do to repay them? You eat them! I think you'd do better to only eat carnivorous animals, such as tigers and lions, who probably deserve to be eaten rather more.

as far as I am concerned I don't eat animals because they are too god's children as we are. I consider them to be my brothers and sisters. As it is our duty to take care of our younger brothers and sister why shouldn't we take care of those animals which people always want to hurt or kill. now as far as your question is concerned a tiger eats an animal because he can't eat vegetables or grass as other vegetarian animals. And that is the reason why he is "TIGER". same in case of other carnivorous animals. but in case of we humans we can live even if we eat vegeterian food. we are not going to die if we dont eat non-veg food. And that is what your point of view should be while becoming a vegeterian. Hence whether it is a tiger or a cow, you have no right to eat anyone of them.

first hahaha you're too cute...
second i would like to correct one person who answered your question with explaining what a vegetarian is.
a vegetarian is one who does not eat meat including mammals, fish, reptiles, even insects. then there is the vegan who not only does not eat meat but does not eat anything that is produced by the animal (from their body) like eggs, milk or any other dairy products and so on...etc
then there are those who choose not to eat certain kinds of meat but will eat others. some won't eat red meat like beef but will eat white meat like poultry. some will only eat fish and consider themselves vegitarians
by the way if you eat fish, F.Y.I. most fish are carnavores so that crosses off your theory haha
