without saying yes, or no; let me say this: red wine thins the blood and contains "trace-minerals" that helps every organ in the body. asprin will thin the blood too. but, as with everything else too much of a good thing can be bad for you. a once-a-day asprin regimen is not a bad idea (i do it), and a small glass of wine before bed-time isn't a bad idea either.

A little red wine is fine. They also say that some white wines are good for you now as well. A small glass of either once a day won't hurt.

Yes but only if you have no more then 1 glass a day.
But like any other beverage too much of a good thing is a bad thing.
Red wine is however a higher cal wine.

Yes, I think it thins the blood some-what (cause of the alcohol), so that would allow blood to flow smoother, instead of thickening and coagulating in the arteries (depending on diet and hydration). I figure that lessens the chance of a heart attack in people who's arteries or on the brink of being completely blocked. Plus!! It also contains phyto-nutrients that demolish free radicals, that can cause havoc in the body. Rumor has it that they cause cancer.
From what I've read, 4 or 5 glasses a week is suffice.

Not really. Wine can actually wear down the inside of blood vessels and create cardiovascular problems. The best amount of alcohol is no alcohol. Try grape juice. Grapes are great for the vessels and heart without the damaging effects of the alcohol content.
