italian Christmas dinner is made JUST with fish, so:
hors d'oeuvre: smoked salmon on small piece of toast and butter, shrimp in rose sauce...
first course :pasta with tomato sauce with mussels and clams, pasta with clams..
second course: stockfish fried or with tomato sauce, large eel, roast fishes...
sweets: panettone, pandoro, torrone, croccante
wine: spumante

This isn't really Christmas dinner, we eat it on Christmas Eve. It's called the feast of the seven fishes and it includes...can you guess?? 7 different fish dishes. We usually have salted cod in a couple of different forms, clams and spaghetti with tuna. There's a few other dishes, but they vary from year to year. Another Italian Christmas dish that we eat every year is Pannetone. I'm not sure if I'm spelling it right, but it's a bread/cake thing and it has candied citrus in it. Super good!!

First you need mama in an apron. Papa with a bib. lots of cousins. Thick Italian red sauce, bread, and red table wine. A Fig ring for dessert might be nice.
