My father had his heart transplant in 1993. So we are going on 14 years. He is 65 and still plays golf 4 to 5 times a week. Travels and does what ever a man of 65 can do, The only problems he has had is skin cancer which is the result of the immune suppressant meds and years on the golf course. And when I say skin cancer I mean he has had over 400 malignant growths removed. So Always wear sunscreen. Also his was not a perfect match but after 12 years of the rejection meds he stopped taking them and his last biopsy was great! Good luck to you I'm sure you will live a long and happy life.

His prognosis sounds very good if there was no rejection. He can live on for many years if he leads a healthy lifestyle.
