I think that the extra creamy cool whip is better. It is also more stable than Redi whip which "melts/disappears" rather quickly because of all the air that is compressed into it. If you want the rosettes that the Redi whip can makes, use a decorator's tip and piping bag.
However, that being said, nothing can really compare to the real thing. If you use fine sugar or powdered sugar, it doesn't take very long to whip up some fresh cream. The results are worth it.
Did you know you can freeze cream in the container before it is even opened? That way you can always have some handy for whipping.

Dipping cool whip with a spoon is so passe.There's nothing like putting redi whip right out of the can with a flourish

Since Cool Whip just comes in a tub and Reddi-Whip comes in a can with a fancy top, Cool Whip is mainly used for stuff like Jello or pudding, where it's used as a mix-in, not a topping. You use it when you need a large quantity of something for a big recipe. However, if you are just looking for something to add to ice cream or a creamy topping for a hot beverage, stick with the Reddi-Whip. They both taste the same, and they're both whipped cream.

Reddi Whip is my fav (but I'm biased, I work for that company).
However, real whipped cream is a hundred times better than either of those choices. It's really easy to make. You whip heavy cream with a standing mixer or a hand mixer. Flavor with vanilla and sugar to taste. It also works better when you put the bowl, beaters and cream into the freezer for a few minutes before you are ready to start.

They are both good. But i like cool whip, and if redi whip is readily available then i buy it. You can't really tell anyway, everyone likes whipped cream, Who really says "hey this is rediwhip!" or vice versa...

They are both good, it just depends on what you are useing it for. Red whip you can spray a little or a lot and with cool whip you can freeze it when not using it so it will last longer. I like both of them.
