most marshmallows contain gelatin in them but there are a couple of vegan marshmallows....hold on and i will search for you.....

However, if you are ovo-lacto, you might want to try marshmallow creme, which does not contain gelatin but does contain egg whites.
Most marshmallows contain gelatin made from animal bones. Kosher gelatin is often made from fish. Jewish dietary restrictions prohibit not only the consumption of pork, but also the mixing of meat and milk in the same meal. So it seems like this is a good short cut, because if something is Kosher dairy, it doesn't contain meat, right? That would be correct except that FISH and EGGS are considered parve, which means that they can go with either meat or milk. Hence, the kosher dairy/parve shortcut only works if you don't mind fish.

I'm disappointed with the number of sarcastic answers to this question. People who use this facility to ask genuine questions deserve to get genuine answers. If you don't know the answer, then don't bother posting a wisecrack remark which just makes you look a little bit dim. If you read the ingredients on marshmallows and a lot of other sweet products, you'll find that not only do they contain gelatine (made from animal skin, bones, ligaments, etc) but also cochineal (can be made from insect bodies), shellac (made from insect wings), and other delightful sounding ingredients (see 2nd link below).

Regular marshmallows contain gelatin. Any Jewish kosher store should carry something as they don't use ingredients containing pork etc.

Some marshmallows marketed as appropriate for vegans are made using carrageenan and agar as gelling agents.
