An Orchid Plant. Its a nice host gift. Also, I might bring her a nice bottle of wine with a description and a note card: For her enjoyment. That way she knows it is a seperate gift. Cheeses are nice, but unless you know what wines will be showcased, you run the risk of ruining the cheese and the wine. Besides, this wine tasting event is her event. I'm sure she has already planned the foods in accordinance with the wines. Perhaps a wine tasting journal/notebook-so she can record her wines and her wine tasting experiences.
I do a lot of wine and small plates parties. While I think that everyones suggestions are great, I also think that they are a bit presumptous. Hence, if you are going to bring a food gift, and youknow she will be using it at the party, find out what varietals she wil be serving. Sorry for being so harsh everyone!
Good luck!

Cheese straws, fresh washed strawberries, macadamia nuts, pate and water crackers. (Not necessary to bring all unless on a nice faux crystal like plastic serving dish).
Be sure you take it slow with the tasting. Will creep up on you surprisingly quick. That way, you will have arrived and departed with your dignity.
Also, at a wine tasting - if you are a lady, be careful to wear very light fragrances, etc. You don't want to compete with the bouquet of the wines. Have a good time and Merry Christmas

For a food item, you could go with a loaf of crusty bread and a nice bottle of balsamic and olive oil dipper.
For a little gift, there are wine charms for peoples' glasses.
All the previous ideas are great too.

i like those wine glass charms that human beings placed on the stems of their glasses. each and each is distinctive, so it helps hit upon whose glass of wine that's. hit upon a distinctive themed set of those and supply them. They should not be too costly. in all likelihood below $25. If I have been quite a number, i might think of that became right into a reasonably cool present. different innovations? possibly a posh bottle opener, or a very good crystal decanter.

If the party is a pot luck party then you will want to bring something edible like olives with herbs, or a nice type of cheese. You might also want to take them a nice sweet for after the meal. Then there is always the safest solution... flowers.

There are a lot of really good answers for this one, I think the only thing I could add would be a nice selection of roasted nut-meats, mostly for looks, as you'll be busy tasting...

A beautiful wine cork. They make some really unique ones that come in little velvet bags.

But it will be a nice gesture if you take a bottle to her instead of bring it to the party, her canvas will be empty by the time the party ends!

I would make a cheese platter with crackers and other munch-ables. Or else bring a dessert, everyone loves that!
