I have a 6 year old golden and he isn't neutered and I don't think my parents want to breed him. So how can I tell them why it is good to have him neutered and some health problems that can arise. And around how much it costs. thanks

The costs very greatly, depending upon if he has a decended testicle or not. If this were the case, it would be a little more to get him neutured because one would not have dropped, and they would need to make two insicions. It is beneficial to prevent a few different kinds of cancers, one being testicular cancer and also helps control the pet population. Since he is older, it wouldn't help the spraying (excessive peeing) issue, but in younger dogs it can help out. Good luck!

Well, it can calm some dogs down if they are extremely hyper. Sometimes they will have spay/neuter stations that will come into different towns and they do them for free/low cost. Unless a dog is being bred there is really no reason to not have them fixed. It cuts back on the amount of unwanted dogs/cats.

You've been here two months and you still have not figured out that there are different sections on Yahoo! Answers? You would get far more responses if you posted in the appropriate sections.

If this was a glitch by Yahoo!, then I apologize for my remark.

It makes them more mellow, but, the main reason is to stop unwanted puppies. For males it stops them from getting certain kinds of cancers, like testicle cancer. It depends on where you live. Here it is $75 for a large breed dog, and I believe $50 for a small one.
