My Gf has told me about for about 1 week now that my heart sounds different. She said it "sounded stronger when it pumped". I didn't think anything of it, however this morning i woked up and i could hear my heart pumping and it was making this funny noise every time it pumped. The only different thing this morning is that I have a nasty cold. I don't know if that makes a difference. What is it??

Please take ECG and consult a Cardiologist. The condition is called palpitations or Arrythmia or disturbed heart rhythm.
Please see the web pages for more details on Arrythmia.

I would take this very seriously, but as an MD I would recommend you go and see your family doctor about this problem, and then the family doctor can recommend some more options for you. I hope this answers your question.

Please go to see a cardiologist. i saw patients like you before, most probably you get palpitations, but you wont find out until you see a cardiologist. Most probably you will get ECG and echocardiography (ultrasound of the heart) test. Its painless and accurate, so just go ahead..

...heart murmur? They get worse when you're stressed, you're sick, etc. You should really go see your doc.
