Sedimentation means the setting out of a sediment-a precipitate, especially that formed spontaneously.
Sedimentation tank- A large open reservoir in which sewage is held during one stage of its purification. The sediment which is deposited is termed 'sludge'; the fluid portion 'effluent'.

it's a kind of blood test measuring collapse of blood particles... if the result is high you may have infection or some other illness that causes your leucocytes increase...
