Ask this to 1,000 different people and you'll have 1,000 different answers.
As you can see, everyone says that the best food is from their own country and I think they are absolutely right and absolutely wrong at the same time.
Infact, every country has a remarkable tradition in food: Italy, France, China, India, Japan, Scandinavia, etc., but if you eat only "your" food and don't taste food from other places, you'll not be able to find an answer.
Of course, there are some countries which are famous in the world for their food (Italy, France, etc.) but this doesn't mean that their food is absolutely the best.
I think it's right to say that everyone of these countries is the best for a particular food: Italy for pasta and pizza, France for cheese, Scandinavia for fish, USA for meal...
It's the same for the wines: italian and french have a wonderful tradition (Chianti, Lambrusco, Bordeaux, Champagne....) and are very famous and expensive, but also Australia and California have delicious red wines.
But, at the end, I think that only you can give the best answer to your own question: taste everything from everywhere and find the best food FOR YOU.
P.S.: I don't know which food is the best, but surely in my top ten there isn't McDonald's. How can you eat something like a Big Mac and don't die just a minute later?

I'm a vegetarian. I love the great spices and herbs in Indian, Iranian and North African food. I love the look and feel of Mexican food with all the bright colors from fresh ingredients. I also used to live in Italy, and I really like the way Italy is such a small country but there are such big culinary divisions, with each small little area claiming their own type of pasta and bread.

America. I have travelled all over the world and love to try new foods. The chinese food in America is better than in China. The Italian food in India is better than in Italy, although you don't get the same atmosphere. French only do French foods, but again, better when it's made in America.Japanese food is best in Japan...but that's all it is! Never had a bad meal in New Zealand!! Not once3 and I lived there 6 months. My vote, USA best, New Zland 2nd.

So far I'd been in other countries, stayed and eat their foods and to tell you frankly; I like some and i dislike some. I think If I will travel to all the countries, I might give you my best choice but since i traveled on a limited few, my taste bud isn't thrilled yet with what I haven't savoured, though on contrary, i can say that each taste will have their own best and distinction to their liking, mine isn't ripe yet....

The United States. We have everyones food and often better than where it originated. A lot of countries are tied to their tradition and can't break free and experiment, which happens a lot in the nicer restaurants in the US, mostly by chefs who came from somewhere else because of that lack of culinary scrutiny from traditionalists. If I personally had to chose a favorite type of food though, I would say the Italians.

United States of America. Why? Because America is a pluralistic country. All of those different ethnic groups add their own flavors into the pot thus contribute to the flavor of the food. When you mix different flavors together, you will have a better testing pot of food. Don't you think?

The Southern States of America. Can't beat a big ole bowl of pintos that have cooked long and slow, nice sized hunk of cornbread slathered in butter, and some crispy fried 'taters on the side.
Or good fried chicken (not KFC, we're talking homemade in a cast iron skillet), fresh snap beans, real mashed taters, and homemade buttermilk biscuits on the side.
Or, good ole sausage gravy with homemade biscuits. I've tried all kinds of foods, and, love different kinds for different reasons, but you just can't beat good, honest home-style Southern cookin'

united states has the best selection of restaurants, apart from missing a great cuisine called Balti which we get here in the U.K, but Italy has one of the best cuisine, Chinese is great, and Japanese. Can't beat British fish n chips some days. so i dont think theres a best answer for this, depends on what you want for that day.

Every country has the best food, as long as your Mom makes it. Yum! Even a bologna sandwich tastes great when Mom makes it... with LOVE!
